Maldini On 1000th Milan Appearance

Legendary Milan captain Paolo Maldini spoke about reaching the milestone of 1000 official appearences with the club.

After the 0-0 draw against Parma at the Ennio Tardini stadium, Milan have momentarily drawn level with Fiorentina in fourth place, although the Viola still have a game to play tomorrow.

But the match went down in history as it marked the 1000th appearence with Milan of legendary captain Paolo Maldini, who came on in place of Marek Jankulovski. "I did not expect to come in," he said after the match.

"Do I still feel emotion after 1000 matches? Yes, there are still new things, I have never started from the bench, for example. Now I still have a few months to enjoy this great adventure, which I hope will last until the end of May."

On tonight's performance, the captain said: "They played better in the first half. We attacked with very few players, without the same spirit we managed to put in the second half."
