Player Ratings: Milan 1-1 Genoa (Goal.com/en)

MILAN:

Abbiati: 7 – Made a few stunning game winning saves during the game, and could not be held responsible for the equaliser.

Zambrotta: 6 – A quiet match by his usual standards, the wing back gave a decent contribution in defence, but did little to help up front.

Maldini: 7 – The evergreen captain of the Rossoneri turned in yet another fine display at the back, proving that age is not everything.

Favalli: 5.5 – At fault more than once at the back for Milan, while making a few important tackles. He does not possess the same age defying class of his captain.

Jankulovski: 6 – Played well in the early stages of the first half, but faded from the game as time went on, while not getting involved up front.

Beckham: 7.5 - Despite a yellow card in the first half, Beckham’s fantastic free kick goal in the 32nd minute was something only a superstar can pull out of his hat.

Pirlo: 7 – Unlucky not to score after hitting the cross bar on two occasions, Pirlo seems to be finding his best form once again, with his passing and tackling ability helping Milan to dominate the midfield.

Ambrosini: 6.5 – Made the difference in midfield with his ball winning ability, specifically in a team where Gattuso’s influence is being badly missed.

Seedorf: 6.5 – Relatively solid performance from the Dutch player. His departure in favour of Senderos could have signaled a turning point in the game.

Kaka: 6 – A very quiet game for the Brazilian international star, who struggled to replicate the form that saw him score two goals at the weekend.

Pato: 8 – The starlet was incredible all game for the Rossoneri. His pace and skill caused Genoa problems constantly and he was unfortunate not to score.

SUBS: Flamini 6, Ronaldinho 6, Senderos
