As Juventus finally bounced back to form with a 3-0 victory over Siena, two goal hero Alessandro Del Piero paid tribute to his former international skipper Paolo Maldini, who took the final bow in his illustrious this afternoon.

Speaking to SkyItalia in the post match interview, Del Piero spoke from his heart as he attempted to highlight the legendary achievements of Milan’s most loyal servant.

“I want to comment on Paolo, because he is quite simply the best there is, in every possible aspect. It is absolutely incredible the way he has continued to give everything, both in training and on the field, for so many years.”

“The spirit in which he has always conducted himself is simply unique and an example to us all.”
