Paolo Maldini Won't Run For Italy Under-21 Job - Cesare Maldini

Milan legend Paolo Maldini is not interested in coaching Italy under 21 side, claims father Cesare.

Paolo Maldini will not step out of retirement to take charge of the Italy under-21 side, says father Cesare.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Pierluigi Casiraghi's time was up on the Azzurrini bench after failing to qualify for the European Championships and 2012 Olympics.

But Maldini will not be the rescue remedy if the FIGC shows Casiraghi the axe.

"Paolo is not interested, he has other ideas. He does not want to coach the under 21 side, as for the rest, he said he doesn't want to become a coach," said his father

"I am sorry for Casiraghi as he did his best right up to the final game."
