Roma Striker Mirko Vucinic Out To Spoil Milan’s Party For Paolo Maldini

The Montenegrin has paid tribute to the retiring defender, but warns the Lupi need full points from their final two games...

Roma travel to the San Siro to take on Milan this afternoon and the Giallorossi will be lucky enough to witness Paolo Maldini’s final bow at the ‘Scala del Calcio’.

The 40-year-old legend will call it a day at the end of the season and the Rossoneri faithful are expected to turn out en masse to give him an unforgettable goodbye.

But Giallorossi hitman Mirko Vucinic is not in the mood to do the Diavoli any favours.

“Maldini has been a great player and is already in the history of football,” the Montenegrin is quoted as saying in the Corriere dello Sport.

“But it is obvious that we will go there to spoil the party. Milan will want to make a good impression on Maldini’s last home game, but we only need to focus on taking six points out of our last two games.”

Roma occupy sixth spot in Serie A and are currently in the last Europa League’s berth, but they are just two points above Palermo who visit already-safe Atalanta this afternoon.
